From the tool-less design that allows hard drives to be inserted without carriers or screws to the variable-speed cooling fan, the compact and quiet 5D3 was designed to work just as well on your desk as it does in an office environment. Users can also dim the lights and configure drives to spin down when not in use.

Built on BeyondRAID technology with single or dual-drive redundancy, Drobo 5D3 protects your data without any user interaction. Drives can be added or replaced or hot-swapped in real time for storage expansion with zero downtime. If you’re running low on space, the lights on the front tell you what to do. Just add a drive in an empty slot or remove a smaller drive and replace it with a larger one.

Power of Thunderbolt 3, Flexibility of USB Type-C

Drobo 5D3 storage array offers both high-speed Thunderbolt and the latest generation USB 3.0 Type-C that is both fast and backward compatible. Equipped with dual Thunderbolt 3 ports, the Drobo 5D3 can connect up to six Thunderbolt devices and the bi-directional performance of Thunderbolt 3 allows all devices in the chain to achieve maximum throughput. Supports one 5K or two 4K display (with a Thunderbolt dock). With 15W of power to slow charge a Thunderbolt 3 laptop.

Note: Laptops and computers with Thunderbolt 2 ports will require a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 adapter.
